Free & Paid Parking in Bristol Airport

Parking at Bristol Airport

Bristol Airport takes pride in how its parking is managed, with high average customer ratings, excellent service, and flattering reviews plastered all over the booking page; however, the quoted prices on their website are as high as or higher than any other large airport in the UK. It is important to note that there is no direct rail connection to Bristol Airport, so you must either drive or take the Airport Shuttle. This means more traffic to and from the airport, as well as more competition for desirable parking spots. Because the most desirable spots are close to the terminal, be prepared to pay a premium for convenient parking. Bristol Airport, like other airports, uses dynamic pricing, which means that parking prices change throughout the year depending on the season. Bristol Airport’s official website guarantees the absolute best airport parking prices and will match or refund any lower online price.

Bristol Airport has the following parking facilities:

Bristol Airport Short-Stay Car Parks

The Silver Zone parking garage is located south of the terminal building. Every 20 minutes, a free airport shuttle bus transports passengers from the Silver Zone car park to the terminal building, with the ride lasting approximately 7-9 minutes. This is the most popular airport parking option for stays of 1-5 days. At the time of checking (June 2023), booking Silver Zone parking two weeks in advance during peak season via the airport’s official, price-guaranteed site cost:

  • £65.99 for a 3-day stay
  • £85.99 for a 5-day stay
  • £105.99 for an 8-day stay

The official short-stay car park, which is only a 3-5 minute walk from the terminal building, is another option for short-term parking.

  • £80.99 for a 3-day stay
  • £122.99 for a 5-day stay
  • £176.99 for an 8-day stay

The short-stay parking lot, which also serves as the Pick Up Car Park, is the best option for very short stays of up to a few hours.

  • £5 for a 0-20 mins stay
  • £10 for a 1-hour stay
  • £14 for a 4-hour stay

Parking in the multi-story car park is a final option to consider. It’s also only a short walk to the terminal entrance, and it’s covered to keep your car safe from the elements. Using the official booking site once more, we were quoted:

  • £84.99 for a 3-day stay
  • £130.99 for a 5-day stay
  • £177.99 for an 8-day stay

The airport also has a Drop & Go parking lot for extremely short stays, such as when dropping someone off and immediately leaving. For stays of less than 40 minutes, expect to pay £10. After 40 minutes, the price skyrockets, making the short-stay parking lot a better option.

Important information regarding these prices:

  • Winter rates are significantly lower, especially in multi-story parking garages.
  • If you intend to use the short-stay car parks at Bristol Airport, it is best to pre-book your parking. If you do not reserve your spot, the hourly rates will be higher.

Bristol Airport Long-Stay Car Parks

For stays of a week or longer, the Bristol Airport long-stay car park is the most affordable on-site parking option. It’s about a 5-minute walk northeast of the terminal to check-in. Using the official airport booking site once more, we were quoted the following prices for various lengths of parking during peak months:

  • £201.99 for a 10-day stay
  • £257.99 for a 14-day stay

If you don’t want to leave your car exposed to Mother Nature, consider a long stay in the Multi-story car park. We were quoted less for multi-story stays than for long-stay parking.

  • £198.99 for a 10-day stay
  • £240.99 for a 14-day stay

Other parking options away from the airport

With airport parking generally considered to be more expensive, it’s no surprise that there is interest in alternative parking arrangements. A common solution to the problem of expensive airport parking is to look for affordable long- or short-term parking near public transportation hubs such as metro/railway stations, bus stations, and so on, and then take that transportation to the airport and back. However, the airport in Bristol does not have a direct rail link, and the only public transportation to and from the airport is the Bristol Airport Flyer shuttle bus. This means there are fewer potential parking gems, but that doesn’t mean they’re not there. The Bristol Airport Flyer shuttle bus operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with buses arriving as frequently as every 10 minutes during peak hours. A single ticket costs £7 and a return ticket costs £11, both of which can be purchased on-board. Parking options along the route are discussed further below.

Parking at Whitegates B&B

Whitegates B&B is in Felton, about a three-minute drive from the airport. They provide both affordable parking and accommodation, with parking rates beginning at £45 for 8 days and £75 for 15 days, even if you are not a B&B guest. They provide airport transportation in a private vehicle. Please keep in mind that they only have a limited number of parking spaces available, so contact them ahead of time to reserve your spot.

Park & Walk

Bristol Airport is one of only a few major UK airports with a park and walk car park that is not on the airport grounds. Most of the time, the roads and highways surrounding the airport simply do not allow for this. While not everyone will be thrilled with the prospect of walking 12-15 minutes to the airport, especially if you’re carrying heavy bags or a large group of children, it could save you a lot of money on parking. The procedure is extremely simple: book your space and pay online, receive your instructions and assigned parking bay by email, arrive and park your car yourself, and walk to the airport along a guided trail with your key in your pocket. Please keep in mind that there is no reception or transfer service available.

Price was quoted £21.83 for a 4-hour stay, £21.83 for a 24-hour stay, £35.48 for a 3-day stay,  £62.80 for a 7-day stay, and £83.28 for a 10-day stay.

Parking near Parson Street Bus Stop

The Parson Street bus stop is on the Airport Flyer route (about 100m north of Parson Street Station, directly in front of Halfords Autocentre) and has a number of nearby parking options that may make it worthwhile to stop and park here. If you only need a couple of hours of parking, perhaps to pick up or drop off someone, you could consider using free streetside parking options. While it is not as safe and secure as a car park, it is free, and there are quite a few options within a very short walk of the bus stop. Please follow local rules and parking guidelines, avoid blocking traffic or other vehicles, and remove or conceal all visible items of value, such as laptops or cameras, from sight. Nearby streets with free street parking include:

  • Highbridge Road BS3 3HZ // 0.1 miles
  • Hall Street BS3 5PN // 0.1 miles
  • Palmyra Road BS3 3HU // 0.1 miles

Unfortunately, parking near the Parson Street bus stop is only suitable for brief airport visits. All of the parking lots within walking distance of the bus stop have a 4-hour maximum stay. You could take a chance and leave your car on the side of the road overnight, but this is not recommended for more than a few nights. The Parson Street bus stop is the only worthwhile stop along the A1 Airport Flyer route. As you get closer to the airport, parking becomes increasingly dangerous as you leave the suburbs. You could leave your car unattended on any of the nearby side streets, but this becomes riskier. Closer to Bristol, overnight parking (or even a few hours) becomes prohibitively expensive, to the point where you’re not saving anything compared to airport rates.

Driveway rentals

Another option is to rent out someone’s driveway using a driveway rental app. Many people who live near airports around the country rent out their driveways to earn some extra money. Although you must still travel to the airport, the driveway rates are usually very competitive when compared to other options. This means that even if you include the cost of a shuttle or taxi, you could potentially save a few pounds on parking. Justpark.com is a significant player in the driveway rental market. You can use their app or their website to see how many options are available within a few miles of Bristol Airport. There are even options within walking distance of the airport, thanks to its accessibility. Private driveways for rent less than 2 miles from the airport start at £2.60/4h, with most places charging around £6 per 4 hours. A 7-day stay costs around £60 on average, with the cheapest options starting at less than £40.

Airport Park & Fly

When looking for ways to save money on airport parking, one last thing to consider is an airport park and fly service. Using one of these services would typically entail driving to a parking lot near the airport, parking your car (or having it parked for you), and taking a shuttle to the terminal. When you return, your car will either be waiting for you or you will take a shuttle back to the parking area. Many airport park and ride services include the transfer fee in the final quote, but double-check ahead of time.

Goblin Parking

Goblin Parking is based at Goblin Combe Farm, which is only a 5-minute drive from Bristol Airport. Since 1984, this family-run farm has provided car parking services to supplement their farming heritage. Their website is extremely user-friendly, and you can quickly and easily calculate how much you’d have to pay per period of time. The price also varies according to the number of people being transferred, increasing by £2 per person after the second. A single traveller and car will pay £75 for a week’s parking and return transfers. From this page, you can get an instant quote and contact Goblin Parking.

Broadfield Park and Fly

Broadfield Park and Fly is also only a 5-minute drive from the airport (you could walk if you didn’t have luggage) and offers very competitive parking rates with free airport shuttles. 6-8 days of parking will cost you £60, and their prices are difficult to beat given how close they are to the airport. They only have a static web page, but it contains all of the information you need to contact them, make a reservation, and locate them.

Oakwood Airport Parking

Oakwood Airport Parking is the airport’s most convenient privately run park and fly service. 7 days of parking will cost £60, which is a very reasonable price considering that it includes a 5-minute transfer to the airport. You can walk if you’re in the mood for it and aren’t too tired. Please keep in mind that your vehicle will be moved to a different parking lot and returned to the drop-off location when you return – by insured drivers, of course. The onsite Beechwood B&B can also offer you a cheap and comfortable night’s sleep. We hope that the information in this guide makes your upcoming trip more convenient and affordable.
