Match Day Parking at Emirates Stadium

Whether you intend to watch the game or not, all London drivers heading to or through Islington should be aware that match day brings a slew of new traffic controls and restrictions. When either the men’s or women’s home games sell more than 10,000 tickets, or the stadium hosts other events that sell more than 10,000 tickets, finding affordable and convenient parking becomes much more difficult.

To stay up to date on the latest events or to plan your route, visit Arsenal’s local residents’ news page. It’s a great resource for finding out what events are coming up and when the roads near the stadium will be closed. The following streets become pedestrian-only on match days:

  • Isledon Road
  • St Thomas’s Road
  • Drayton Park
  • Benwell Road
  • Arvon Road
  • Holloway Road
  • Highbury Place

On match days, streetside parking is prohibited in the following zones: E, F, G, H, J, L, N, Q, and V. This equates to a £12.50 per hour charge for pay-and-display parking, with an additional £2 to £3.75 per hour charge for petrol vehicles (depending on emissions), and £6.50 per hour charge for diesel vehicles. Electric vehicles pay a reduced rate of £2 per hour. On the Islington Council website, you can view a static or interactive map of controlled parking zones near Emirates Stadium.

Closest match-day car parks to Emirates Stadium

While onsite parking at Emirates Stadium is an expensive and time-consuming nightmare, local entrepreneurs within a 10- to 15-minute walk of the stadium have stepped in to fill the void. There are several private parking providers who make match-day parking easy to book and accessible. Remember to use our interactive map to find suitable parking based on your travel direction.

MS Car Parks

MS Car Parks provides match-day parking by partnering with nearby schools and renting out parking spaces. Parking costs between £20 and £39 per hour, which is quite reasonable when compared to many of the other options in the area, with some parking providers charging up to £25 per hour. They have reserved parking spaces at the following locations:

  • Montem Primary School car park // 9-minute walk
  • Ambler Primary School car park // 9-minute walk
  • Canonbury Primary School car park // 15-minute walk
  • Stroud Green Primary School car park // 14-minute walk
  • Hornsey Road VIP car park // 7-minute walk
  • Christ the King Primary School car park // 12-minute walk
  • Laycock Primary School car park // 15-minute walk

You can book your parking and get all the information you need on MS Car Park’s booking page, or you can contact MS Car Parks via their online portal.

Gemini Parking Solutions

For Emirates Stadium match days, Gemini Parking Solutions operates one of the closest pre-booked parking lots. At £20 per day and only a 5-minute walk away, this is parking gold if you can get a spot before it sells out. Their parking lot is located at:

  • The Village Practice, Val McKenzie Avenue // 5-minute walk

To reserve a space in this parking garage, call 0208 418 0948 or use the RingGo pay-by-phone app.

Kingsland Shopping Centre

Parking at the Kingsland Shopping Centre to the east of Emirates Stadium is another excellent option if you don’t mind a 2-mile walk in both directions. It has 350 parking spaces available for a very reasonable (for London!) price of £10 for three hours and £20 for up to twenty-four hours. Because pre-booking is not required, it is a good option for those who decided to watch the game at the last minute.

  • Kingsland Shopping Centre, Kingsland High Street // 40-minute walk

Holocene Motor Group

The Holocene Motor Group runs a car park off Holloway Road, about a 15-minute walk from Emirates Stadium. They are not the cheapest option available at £30 per day, but you could do worse.

  • Holocene car park, Camden Road // 15-minute walk

You can reserve a table by calling 020 7607 3600 or 07342 196 782, or you can make an online reservation here.

Parking Booking Apps

Parking booking apps that facilitate renting private parking spaces and assist commercial businesses with parking management have grown in popularity in recent years. Service providers such as JustPark, Your Parking Space, and Parklet have experienced rapid growth and genuinely provide a better alternative to driving around looking for parking spaces. We took a look at some of the biggest players’ match-day offerings. We used ‘Emirates Stadium‘ as our location and looked at parking options for the Arsenal vs. Tottenham game on Sunday, September 24th, 2023, for consistency and fairness. We looked for parking from 1 to 5 p.m. We looked exactly two weeks ahead of time.

JustPark

While JustPark usually has plenty of options, it appears that booking more than two weeks in advance is the best option. More than a third of their options had already sold out, and we have no reason to believe that these were the undesirable options. Having said that, there were still at least 50 options within a 30-minute walk of the stadium.

While prices vary greatly (between £9 and £62 for the specified period), they mostly scale in relation to distance from the stadium. Parking spots less than a 10-minute walk away cost around £30 for four hours, while those willing to walk for 20 to 30 minutes can expect to pay between £10 and £16.

Your Parking Space

The story was similar to Your Parking Space, except that the highest asking price increased to £75 for 4 hours. A quarter of the available parking spaces had already been sold out, and the remaining ones ranged from £15 to £20 within a 20- to 30-minute radius of the stadium. We advertised most spots within a 10-minute walk for between £25 and £50. We realize that’s a wide range, but that’s the game when individual owners set their own prices.

ParkLet

Surprisingly, ParkLet only had three options for matchday: £77 within a 5-minute walk of the stadium and £25 and £7.50 within an hour’s walk. There are better alternatives.

About Emirates Stadium

Emirates Stadium, the pulsating heart of North London football and the proud home of Arsenal Football Club, is one of the world’s premier sporting and event venues. The Emirates, which first opened its doors in 2006, was a modernization of its predecessor, Highbury, also known as “the home of football.” As a marvel of modern design and functionality, it now has an electrifying capacity of 60,704 fans and is one of Europe’s most technologically advanced stadiums.

The Emirates has evolved into more than just a football temple over the years, becoming a multi-purpose arena for a variety of sporting and entertainment events. While it is not an Olympic venue like Wembley, it has hosted renowned international friendly matches, concerts, and served as a platform for various other sporting events such as Brazil’s global tour matches. It’s also been a popular location for film and television shoots, lending it a Hollywood feel.

Whether it’s to witness the high-octane rivalry of the North London Derby, to see world-class musicians in concert, or to participate in a variety of cultural events, the Emirates Stadium is more than a venue; it’s an experience. Emirates Stadium is a mecca for fans of sport, music, and culture, thanks to its modern facilities and rich history connected to one of England’s most iconic football clubs. So, the next time you find yourself in London, make the most of the opportunity to visit this magnificent arena.
