Other popular attractions include the Winter Garden, a massive greenhouse right in the heart of the city. This architectural marvel, which houses approximately 2,500 species from around the world, is worth seeing. Free Parking in Sheffield
Free, unrestricted street parking
If there are no restrictions, there is nothing wrong with parking for free on the side of the road! This section will show you some of the best places to park for free on your next trip to Sheffield. All of the distances listed below refer to the distance to Sheffield Town Hall, which is located in the heart of the city and within walking distance of major attractions, shopping centers, commercial centers, and more. Your final destination could be much closer than you think.
The streets listed below are a mix of commercial and residential. It is critical to double-check that you are not inconveniencing anyone with your vehicle when parking on the side of the road. Even the most conscientious driver may inadvertently block a driveway, make it difficult for someone to exit their parking space, or park in a way that obscures traffic. Please exercise extra caution when parking in a residential area.
Residential Streets
You could consider parking on a residential street and walking to the town center. If you’re unfamiliar with a location, the disadvantage is not knowing which streets you can park on. We’ve compiled a list of all of Brighton’s residential streets with free parking, including postcodes and distances from the seafront (specifically the Palace Pier). To make it easier for you to find the streets that are most convenient to you, the list is divided into the directions from which you can approach Brighton.
Keep in mind the usual rules for parking on residential streets, such as not parking over driveways or on double yellow lines, keeping noise to a minimum (especially in the evening), and double-checking for signage indicating when and where you’re allowed to park, if any.
North
If you’re coming from the north, free street parking is available in Burngreave. A twenty-minute walk will take you to the heart of Sheffield, very close to the Town Hall. A stroll down Spital Hill and then Wicker Street will take you to Lady’s Bridge, across the River Don, and into the heart of Sheffield. You could also use Google Maps to find buses that travel along this route.

If you’re driving into Sheffield on the A6135, the most convenient free parking in Sheffield will be located to the east of the city center. We couldn’t find much unrestricted street parking south of Sheffield City Centre, but if you park on Manton Street, you’re only a 10-minute walk from The Moor Market, a popular downtown area with plenty of shopping and dining options.

The free unrestricted parking to the west of Sheffield City Centre is a little further away than the other directions, but if you’re going anywhere near The University of Sheffield or Weston Park, you’ll find these spots very convenient. If you’re going to walk to the city center, consider taking a quick detour through Crookes Valley Park. This park is especially popular with locals during the summer, thanks to its relaxing lake, lawns, and swans.

There are several free parking options available in Sheffield City Centre. You can park your car overnight in the following city center locations from 8:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., seven days a week. Take care not to obstruct traffic in any way, shape, or form, and remove any valuables from your vehicle, or at least move them to a less visible location. These measurements represent the walking distance to Town Hall.
